About Ai Chi

Ai Chi is a graceful form of aquatic exercise. Ai Chi is a water-based total body strengthening and relaxation progression that bridges eastern and western philosophies, and integrates mental, physical, and spiritual energy. It combines Tai-Chi concepts with Qi Gong and Watsu techniques and uses a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements of the arms, legs, and torso.

As an exercise program, Ai Chi has been shown to increase flexibility and core strength. Trunk stabilization/balance and pain management are also benefits of Ai Chi. Being in water lessens edema in the joints, which allows participants to improve range of motion and mobility. The flowing movements of Ai Chi can also increase metabolism and blood circulation.
